Utility EDC Knives

Utility #UK1 — Refined EDC

A sophisticated everyday carry - featuring a full-width bevelled, mirror-finished blade and ridged spine. Crafted for plain sight smart casual carry, with stained American White Oak handle, copper pins, and a bespoke wet-formed leather sheath with belt loop,  magnetic restrainer and lanyard beads.

This bespoke Hooter Design-branded, EDC utility knife balances refinement with utility. Hand-forged from 3.5mm thick, 1084 high-carbon steel, the 8cm blade is hand-sanded to a 3000-grit mirror finish. The 20cm drop-point spine features precision thumb ridging for enhanced control.

Because of its compact size, full-width bevel, ridged spine, and blade geometry, the #UK1 excels at controlled utility tasks such as rope work and fine carving. Its stability and edge retention allow it to replace multiple small tools, making it an ideal everyday companion for indoor and outdoor use.

The handle is shaped from stained American White Oak, finished in deep black and russet tones, secured with copper pins, and complemented with a lanyard hole and beads for quick-draw and personalisation. The handle has been epoxy-finished to provide protection and preserve the unique characteristics.  Its compact form and balanced weight make it a comfortable, unobtrusive companion for pocket, pack, or belt carry.

Accompanied by a premium black-russet, cow leather sheath, wet-formed, saddle-stitched, welted and burnished with a belt loop and equipped with a magnetic restrainer for secure, elegant deployment.

Over time, the blade and timber develop a patina that reflects your habits and environment, turning the knife into a personal artefact — a functional heirloom carried with intention.

Utility #UK2 — Rugged Field EDC

Designed for the outdoors, an everyday carry featuring a polished finished blade with textural forge marks to the spine. Crafted with an aged Australian Yellow Stringybark handle, brass pins and a bespoke wet-formed leather sheath with belt loop and strap retainer.

A robust tool designed for the rigors of the field, while retaining a characteristic EDC profile. The 3.5mm thick, 1084 high-carbon steel blade has a stout working profile that features a brush-polished bevel contrasted by distinctive forge marks along the spine. The highly functional 8cm arrow point blade is balanced with an overtly hand-moulded handle grip for stability and penetration.

The #UK2 has a 20cm curved full-thickness spine and balanced weight, making it suitable for demanding utility tasks that smaller EDC knives struggle with. The blade’s geometry is tuned for confident slicing, controlled carving, and general utility tasks.

The handle is crafted from an old Australian Yellow Stringybark tree, a hardwood showcasing aged fiddleback and birds-eye grain patterns.  Brass hardware anchors the timber, and a lanyard hole and beads for quick-draw when carried in the field.  Each piece is epoxy- finished to provide longevity and protection under trail conditions.

Accompanied by a premium deep-brown cow leather sheath, wet-formed, saddle-stitched, welted and burnished with a belt loop and equipped with a strap restrainer for secure deployment in an active setting.

A compact utility knife built for reliability in the workshop, on the trail, and around camp - aa dependable companion for daily use.
