PERSONAL TALISMANS

Personal Talismans are pocket-sized crucifixes and key fobs, crafted from natural metal and wood using the same Hooter Design craftsmanship as our knives. Designed as tactile aids to meditation and peace of mind, they sit naturally in your palm or on your key ring. Every piece is one of a kind and carries the Hooter Design branding and marks of its hand-made origin. Prices are a guide and may vary slightly after consultation.

Personal Talisman - #PT12 - Pocket Crucifix

Created as both a spiritual anchor and a meditative companion, the Pocket Crucifix is crafted to be carried in its bespoke leather sheath or held directly in the palm.

Hand-cut from aged Australian Yellow Stringybark, a very durable hard-wood with a refined aged character.   The crucifix showcases the timber's distinctive grain - notably fiddleback and bird's-eye features - and its organic creamy warmth.   The timber is epoxy coated to protect the surface, deepen the grain, and provide long‑lasting durability for the long-term.

The crucifix sits naturally in the palm, inviting the thumb to trace its edges and the grain of the timber.   It has seven accompanying wooden beads on triple-braided, waxed silk thread adding to its tactility with respectful nod to the rosary process.  The braided thread's strength is commensurate with parachute cord. A copper Hooter Design stamped tab is also attached.

While the crucifix is modelled on Christian ideals, it speaks more broadly to anyone with a spiritual calling, as a quiet object to return to throughout the day

Each crucifix comes in a hand-stitched, made-to-measure leather wallet that protects the piece and deepens its sense of presence in the pocket.  The wallet is wet-formed and hand-stitched to protect the crucifix' timber and metal finishes.   It has an antique finish and is fastened with a press stud.  Crafted to develop a deep, personal patina over a lifetime of use, the wallet ensures your crucifix remains a pristine spiritual companion.

Every element, from the silk-braided wooden beads to the stamped copper Hooter Design mark, reflects our commitment to hand-made authenticity within the Hooter Design collection.

Personal Talisman #PT13 — Key Fob

Constructed from Australian Red Gum, provides a highly durable locally sourced hardwood, metal, and glass, each material contributes to its function and character. The wood provides a warm, organic surface and is pinned to a shaped brass backing with steel hardware - using the same hand‑finished, pinned construction techniques found in Hooter Design knives.

The fob is teardrop shaped incorporating four wooden beads shaped and steel-pinned into the main body of the piece, providing a strong tangible holding surface.  A glass element is embedded at the heart of the piece introducing a point of clarity and a further reliable tactile reference point — a place your thumb naturally returns to.

The fob is designed with durability in mind.  The metals - steel and brass - give strength suited to everyday carry.   The timber is epoxy coated to protect the surface, deepen the grain, and provide long‑lasting durability for the long-term.   The Hooter Design brand is stamped into the metal on the back of the fob.

The fob is attached to the key ring by a triple-braided, waxed silk thread that incorporates 3 small wooden beads.   The braided thread's strength is commensurate with parachute cord.

The combination of dense timber, metal, and glass gives PT#13 a defined presence among your keys. The materials are selected for durability and for the way they wear in over time, developing a surface and weight that becomes unmistakably yours.  As a personal talisman, PT#13 is made to be turned, thumbed, and held in quiet moments. It is a small, resilient object that steadies attention, anchors presence, and adds a clear Hooter Design identity to your everyday carry.
